Allritey now, a new day~~~has arrived. The moping and tears of being reminded of 9/11 (both years) are over. No more Bush-bashing by me (wellll, maybe just a li'l tweak now and then?), it's time to be happy, don't worry. Eeeeuuu, did I really just say that? Icky.

Anyway, let's start with a lively little show called "Cellulite in the Senate", starring Our Girl, Hillary. You go, Girl!! Shake up the old farts in the Senate, we know you can. hehehehe

Now let's talk about people in ads on TV who are crunching the product being hawked like they haven't had a meal for days. Potato chips, cereal, you name it, there they are, assaulting our eardrums with the open-mouth crunch, gnash, insipid smile of satisfaction. Thank goodness there is a remote. My "Mute" button is worn out. I don't know about you, but I was taught not to chew with my mouth open and try to make as little noise as possible. It's difficult but that's life in the civilized world.

Then there's my volatile, but harmless, Dad. I clearly recall the three of us (I'm an only child) sitting at the dinner table, having one of Mom's good eatin' meals, when she made some small comment, possibly just a little derisively, about Dad's loud crunching of celery. Well, he was kind of pissed with this, so he took his plate and went down in the basement to finish his dinner. We had a pretty nice "rec" room so it wasn't like he had to sit in the middle of dirt and rats all over. Mom and I did our best not to let him hear us laughing. When he finally came back upstairs, pouting and wanting his dessert, she very gently apologized..........he regally accepted the apology and we were OK again.

Remembering 9/12~~A friend send me an article that I can only hope whoever might visit my little blog page will take a few minutes to read. Ms. Huffington put today's remembrances of a year ago in wonderful perspective. I put it on my Mousetrap home page. It's really a great article.

Oh, and come to think of it~~~I still remember what I was doing the morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941. Some things we can't, and will never, forget. I don't think there was a big rash of programming on the radio on December 7th's first anniversary, though. Everyone was too busy either fighting the war or contributing what they could on the "home front". I personally was busy putting dimes in a book (with slots for the dimes) to save up for a "war bond". No-one whined about giving up things like gas, butter, sugar, silk stockings, et al. (rationing) With the "me, me, me" selfishness of today's society, I kind of wonder if anyone would be willing to sacrifice anything from their personal comfort. Just a thought.
