Well, I see that I wasn't invited~~~to the love fest Daughter and Granddaughter Dearest are going to have this Sunday afternoon watching Baba Waa-waa's interview with Justin Timberlake. It was re-scheduled in our area 'cause the local ABC affiliate decided to show an hour of Packer stuff before the Monday night game instead of this really important interview. Well, poo-poo to you, little girlies.

Know what? I don't care. You girlies go right ahead and drool over this baby-faced person on the computer room TV. I'm gonna be with the Boys in the livingroom watching something important, Packers vs. Lions. Yeah, we gonna light up a big fat see-gar, open a couple of bottles of brewski with our teeth, loosen our britches ('cos we will be full after the tasty meal you dished up) and hunker down with some real men. Pfffft. Þ So there.

Helloooo there~~are you all as happy as I am that the sordid, ugly, nauseatingly repetitious political commercials are finally over? Don't you just love this new wrinkle in annoying people --- the recorded phone message on your answering machine, chirping about one candidate or another? I even got one from Planned Parenthood. Everyone has an agenda. Well, I voted and hope you all did too.

Other than voting before I went to "work" this morning, I had my own personal agenda to deal with. Compression stockings. Well, knee-highs for me right now. The doc gave me a prescription for some knee-highs but I discovered Medicare and my supplemental insurance wouldn't buy them for me. So I got me an OTC pair at the local drugstore for ten bucks with a $3 rebate coupon. Such a deal.

And golly-gee, I sure had a great time trying to get them on this morning. Even though these OTC sox are only a "mild" compression, those suckers were tough stuff. I am not a limber, flexible type, more your big soft lump, actually. Bending over to get a sock on my toes and to my ankle, when it got easier, was really pitiful. I was grunting, puffing and sweat was starting to leak out of my face. But I did it, got 'em up to my knees and tried not to notice the wad of knee flesh bulging over the top of the stocking.

Try to avoid growing old if you can, kiddies.
