Hello,~~~my name is Lorraine. Thanksgiving Day is over and I was suitably stuffed to capacity, and then some. That last bite of cherry pie ala mode was an overload, but I persevered and finished it. *Burp* It is Saturday, which comes as a complete surprise to me since I don't know what happened to Friday. Oh well.My mind is a total blank. I did drag the vacuum cleaner out and it is sitting in the living room waiting, like a bird of prey. I read the morning paper, worked the Jumble, checked my email, made the bed and played with the feline lump under the covers......what is it with cats and their burrowing under the bed covers while you're trying to make it?..........I do not feel like cleaning the apartment, but I know I have to. I really don't like housecleaning but there comes a time even in my bedraggled, dusty life when I have no choice.
So I guess I will leave now and begin the attack on dust, dirt and the sticky kitchen floor. But first, I really should finish that xword puzzle so I can start a fresh one later. Ah, and there's coffee left in the pot. OK then. This is great. "Later" will be just fine..

Hurry, hurry, hurry~~~it is 7:00 a.m. and I have to post something here. This is what I just love about the dial-up connection, I have to juggle my time between the PC and the phone. I have to call someone back at 8:30, and you all know how fast time can go when you're sitting in front of the monitor in your own little 'puter world!!But I haven't posted for a few days, so something is better than nothing??? Ummmmm, let's see. I was supposed to hippity-hop over to the hospital this morning and meet with someone in Rheumatology. I'm going to participate in a clinical trial for a new pill coming out to alleviate arthritis pain. Only trouble is it's a blind study so I won't know if I am getting the pill or a placebo. That sucks. But that's the way it's gotta be.
Anyway, was supposed to go in this morning for an initial workup. An EKG, occult blood test and I forget what else they said. Duh. Then I guess the next step is talking to the IRB (internal review board) and getting the whole poop on what's happenin' . But then I get a call last night from the nurse coordinator telling me the appointment has been cancelled and to call her this morning.
So that's what I am going to do. At about 8:30. Hey!! Wake up, I'm talking serious stuff here. Anybody ever been asked to take an occult blood test? I would describe it but I haven't had breakfast yet.
